The Captionwale badge, and how Clean Export removes it

What the badge on a Free export looks like and where it sits, how a one-time Clean Export clears it from one video for a day, and when a plan makes more sense.
What the badge is
Every export on the Free plan carries the Captionwale badge: the CW logo tile beside the word Captionwale, gently animated, placed in the centre of the frame and slightly see-through. It is drawn underneath your captions, so it never hides a word you want people to read.
The editor's preview draws the badge from the same measurements and the same animation the export uses. Whatever you watch in the editor on Free is exactly what the downloaded file will carry, down to where the animation rests on a paused frame, so nothing about the finished video comes as a surprise.
Why the middle of the frame
A small mark in a corner can be cropped away in seconds, and it fares no better when an app recompresses the upload. A mark in the centre stays through cropping and re-encoding, because cutting it out would cut out the subject too. That is the bargain the Free plan strikes: real captioning at no cost, with the badge somewhere it cannot quietly be removed.
There are two honest ways to export without it. Buy Clean Export for a single video, or move to any paid plan, which leaves the badge off every export you make. Neither route alters the rest of the video: your captions, timing and framing come out exactly as you set them.
How Clean Export works
Clean Export is a one-time purchase of ₹79 for Free accounts. The terms are short:
- It covers one video. Export it without the badge, then export that same video again as often as you like for 24 hours, so a typo you spot after posting costs nothing extra to fix.
- The 24 hours begin with the first clean export after you buy it. The video is recognised by its project and its length, so re-exports must come from the same project, with the clip the same length.
- It exports at the Free plan's ceiling, up to 1080p, and with the templates Free includes.
- It never renews and comes with no transcription minutes. Buy it again whenever another video needs to go out without the badge.
- It is paid once, by UPI, and no card is stored.
Where to buy it
In the editor, whenever your next export would carry the badge, a Clean Export button showing its price sits in the top bar on a computer. When a Free export finishes, the done dialog also offers to remove the badge, on phones as well as computers. That is often the best moment to decide, since you have just watched the file and know it is the one you want to post. The pricing page lists it beside the plans.
Once the payment goes through, export the video again. The new file comes out clean, while the copy you downloaded earlier keeps its badge, because a file already saved on your device cannot be changed afterwards.
Clean Export or a plan?
Work it out from how often you post and what you need:
- An occasional video: Clean Export at ₹79 is the cheaper route.
- Several videos a month: Shuru costs ₹349 a month, so from 5 clean videos a month it works out cheaper than buying Clean Export each time.
- More than the badge: Shuru also brings 60 minutes of transcription, every classic and language template, the Text tool, and SRT and VTT files.
- Longer clips: Free transcribes up to 1 minute per clip and Clean Export does not change that; every paid plan accepts clips of up to 5 minutes.
- Animated looks or 2K: only Josh and Superstar export the Trending CFX and festival templates, or go above 1080p.
Questions
Can Clean Export remove the badge from a file I already downloaded?
No. Buy it, then export the video again from the same project. The new download is the clean one.
Does Clean Export unlock the locked templates?
No. It removes the badge and nothing more, so the video exports with the 10 templates Free includes. Every other template needs a plan.
What happens once the 24 hours are up?
Further exports of that video carry the badge again. Buy Clean Export once more if you need another clean copy.
Do paid plans ever add the badge?
No. Every export on Shuru, Josh or Superstar is free of it. If a plan ends and the account goes back to Free, new exports carry the badge from then on.
