Facebook Reels
A Facebook Reels caption generator that speaks your audience's language.
For many Indian pages, the Facebook audience is older, lives further from the big cities, and often watches in a language other than English. Facebook is also where videos tend to play muted: on a bus, at a desk, next to someone sleeping.
Facebook's automatic captions do not support every Indian language, and they only appear if a viewer's settings allow it. Captions drawn into the video appear for everyone, in whichever language the Reel uses.
What you get
Why creators use Captionwale for this
Each language in its own script
12 languages, each written the way its readers expect: Bengali in Bengali script, Telugu in Telugu, Gujarati in Gujarati. Plenty of Facebook viewers read Hindi in English letters, and that romanised option is just one setting away.
Clear of the Reels controls
On a Facebook Reel, the page name and post text sit along the bottom and the reaction buttons run down the right side. Captions begin inside a safe area that avoids both, and you can move them anywhere.
Export once, post in many places
The same MP4, captions and all, works on Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels and WhatsApp Status without changes. For a regular Facebook video post, paid plans also give you an SRT file to attach.
How it works
From upload to export
STEP 01
Upload your Reel file
Use the MP4 or MOV straight from your phone or from your editing app.
STEP 02
Set the language
Name the spoken language, or leave detection to the model. Then choose its own script, Latin letters, or English.
STEP 03
Review and design
Fix names and local words, pick a style, and move the captions away from the on-screen controls.
STEP 04
Save and upload
Download the MP4 with captions built in and post it to Facebook as a Reel.
Questions
Asked before trying it
Can a Facebook Reel take an SRT file?
Facebook accepts subtitle files on regular video posts, but for a Reel it is safer to put the words into the video itself. Burned-in captions show for every viewer on every phone, regardless of their caption settings.
Which languages work for Facebook Reels captions?
All 12 of them, which means Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Indian English. Apart from Urdu and English, any of them can also be written in Latin letters or translated to English.
Do I have to pay?
Not to begin. You get 2 minutes of transcription each month for Reels as long as 60 seconds, and 32 styles to pick from. Free downloads have a see-through Captionwale mark across the middle of the picture. Any paid plan takes the mark away and accepts Reels up to 5 minutes.
