Video transcripts
Turn a video into a transcript with every word timestamped.
Tools made for English struggle with Indian-language transcripts. Hindi comes out as broken English, the Tamil half of a mixed sentence disappears, or Devanagari vowel signs end up in the wrong spot.
Underneath, this is the engine Captionwale uses for captions: speech recognition built for Indian languages that puts a time on every word. The only change is the output. You walk away with the words rather than a styled video.
What you get
Why creators use Captionwale for this
Text with timestamps
Each line of an SRT or VTT carries a time, so jumping to any quote in the recording is quick. They are plain text, and any text editor or word processor will open them.
Fixed before you download
Check the transcript against the video, correct names and terms, and the file you save includes your fixes instead of the model's first attempt.
In the original script
Keep each language in its own writing: Devanagari for Hindi, Tamil script for Tamil, Urdu script for Urdu. If the transcript is for a different reader, choose romanised text or an English translation.

Questions
Asked before trying it
Can I get just the words, without timestamps?
Downloads come as SRT or VTT. Between the sentences sit numbered timing lines; delete those from the SRT if you only want the words, or use any converter that removes them.
Is downloading the transcript free?
On the free plan you can transcribe 2 minutes a month, with clips of up to 60 seconds, and read or correct the result in the editor. To save it as SRT or VTT you need a paid plan; Starter is ₹399 a month for 90 minutes.
Can it transcribe a YouTube or Facebook video by its link?
No, links are not supported. Upload the file itself: a video you own that you have downloaded, or an export from your editing app.
Caption the clip you already have.
